Our Last Hurah!

We decided to go to the Ogden Dinosaur Park yesterday as a last fun activity before school starts. Aunt Brianna and her sons joined us for a fun day. The kids love seeing the giant dinosaurs, digging for dinosaur bones and hearing the growling of the dinosaurs. They really enjoyed the afternoon and can't wait to go back!

A liberal in a Republican Home

We were sitting watching a game show on T.V. the other night. The winner was going to receive a mere $5000 for answering a question. Miranda turns to me and says, " You mean there are people STARVING in our country and this person get $5000 just for answering a question?" She was completely appalled! Rory is going to have to do some serious brain washing if he is going to convince his left wing daughter to come to the other side!

We've gone to the birds!

Sunday evening Grandma Carol invited us to go to her cousin's bird sanctuary (a special thanks to Doug Eames and his beautiful wife). It was amazing. There were hundreds of birds and Ari wanted a feather from all of them! The kids especially liked the swans. They had fun feeding the fish, petting the one footed emu "bob", and being close to all the birds. We loved the calls of the doves, the Nene Hawaiian goose, and the odd sound an emu makes. We even got to end the night with farm fresh eggs for dinner!

Birthday Cakes

I mentioned to a couple of you that I'd made cakes for Jake and Sabrina's birthday. They were fun to do. Here are a couple of pictures. On Jacob's Lego cake I wrote his name one each circle (like the Lego brand). You can't really see it on the picture. We still have LOTS of cake if anyone is hungry!

Six and going strong...

Jake also celebrated his birthday this weekend. He chose to go for a family bike ride and go miniature golfing. After a slight hiccup with a flat tire, we went for a four mile bike ride around Hyrum Reservoir. That afternoon Jacob had fun playing golf, especially when his mom and sisters left and he and his dad enjoyed another round with "just the boys".

Sabrina turns three!

We celebrated Sabrina's birthday a day early this year (we thought we were going out of town). She, of course, is all about princesses. It wasn't until a month ago that she actually admitted that her name was Sabrina (or Brinas as she calls herself). Up until that point it was always "Princess". Everything she received was either pink or princess related.

My first attempt at blogging...

So, I've heard of blogging, I've even read some blogs by other people, but I never attempted it myself. Why would I have anything important that people might actually want to read. Then I saw a friends blog that included pictures of the kids and what they had said. Now there is something to write about! We'll give this a shot and see what comes of it. If nothing else it might give family a chance to see what is new in our lives.
