Halloween 2009

The kids made a haul this year trick-0r-treating. Here they are with their costumes. Minus Miranda. She had other plans and unfortunately her picture didn't get taken. You can see her in the previous post. She was a very beautiful Cleopatra.

His costume took the most time and in the end it was too awkward to wear to school. It was definitely unique!

Halloween Festivities

We had so much fun at Grandma and Grandpa Farr's Halloween party this year. We had yummy food and fun games! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Brianna for a really fun party.

All the kids had Halloween parties at school (except Miranda, I guess Middle school is too cool for parties). It just so happened that the only one I had the camera for was Kali's. They trick-or-treated to a couple of neighbors and then trunk-or treated to the mom's in their cars. Some of the moms gave away full sized candy bars! Oh my goodness, what 3 year old needs a candy bar that big?!?! Well, let's just say I took care of it for her;).

Crazy Hair Day

The kids love Red Ribbon Week. They spend the week in school discussing the importance of staying away from drugs. In an amazing twist, the powers that be have made it possible for the kids to dress up all week. One day they wear red, another day was pajama day, Friday they got to wear their costumes to school, and our favorite is always crazy hair day. The girls split all of the flower clips we have in our house. I have to say it was one of the most simple crazy hair days we've done. Jake got a new respect for what the girls in the house go through every day when we put a couple of elastics in his hair. Not one of the girls had any sympathy for him that day!

Kali wanted me to take a picture of her. It makes me laugh that she looks like someone who didn't say "NO" to drugs.

Pumpkin Walk

Ari Enters the Double Digits!!

Arianna turned the big 1-0 this year! She actually got to split her birthday between two days since it fell on a Sunday. Saturday evening she went roller skating with her good friend Alyssa. Our intentions were to have more of the family join her, but due to some sickness in the house that weekend it was a quiet celebration (if you consider the Fun Park quiet). Sunday she got to open presents celebrate later in the afternoon with Grandma and Grandpa Farr. She wasn't feeling well for most of the day. It's no fun to be sick on your birthday. But she loved her presents and over all had a great birthday!

I LOVE this picture of Arianna. Her Aunt captured her personality to a T! What an amazing energy Arianna brings to our family. Ari has a full life with school, TaVaci, piano lessons, Achievement Days, and she's recently added Orchestra - she plays the violin. She does everything with such an amazing talent. Her teacher absolutely loves her and sits her by those in the class that are struggling because she is so quick to help. Ari has a flair for drama. She can quote movie lines for almost any situation. The last couple of months she's started talking in an Indian (not Native American) accent. I don't know where she heard it, or how she does it so well, but she's amazing. She insists it's a Scottish accent, but if you want a good laugh have her do it for you. Ari is quite dependable, loves to listen to music, and gets absolutely lost in a good TV show.

Arianna, we love you SO much. Thank you for being who you are and for sharing your vibrant life with us!

Family Pictures 2009

I mentioned before that my cute sister took family pictures for us. As you can see we mixed up the blog a little bit. Here are a few others that we loved! Thanks, Brianna. You are one talented lady!

Funny Kali

Age 3 is just a silly age. Kali is is old enough to get a lot of things that go on. But just innocent enough to keep us laughing. Here are a few things that she's done lately to keep us laughing.

A few weeks ago Rory was going down to the storage room to grab something to go with our dinner. Kali followed him and was thrilled to find our stash of canned green beans (I know you're all salivating too!). She came up the stairs carrying two cans of stringed green beans. She directed Rory to get the can opener and a bowl. Rory put the whole can of beans in a large bowl, and she sat down at her little table for a feast! She ate and ate those green beans. We saved what she didn't eat and she ate the rest the next day. She really does enjoy veggies. If we pass the broccoli at the grocery store she cries for it until we get her some. (I'm starting to question if she's mine or not ;)

Kali went through a two week phase of watching Pocahontas. As a matter of fact most of the boy barbies she plays with now are either Kokuum or John Sniff (that would be John Smith for all those of you who haven't been forced to watch Pocahontas on a daily basis).

When Kali and I are teasing each other, she says, "Mom, we're choking together." (That's "joking" with each other.)

Kali goes and goes and goes until she crashes. Usually it's on my bed. This particular evening it was tilted upside down on my lap!
